THE CANADIAN ESKIMO DOG
This beautiful and wild looking dog bears very much resemblance to the well-known Husky and goes back 2000 years in history. They are direct descendants of the polar wolf tamed and trained by Eskimos up in the high arctic to be used for packing, hunting and as sled dogs. Canada’s oldest aboriginal race was virtually on the edge of extinction 15 years ago when Bill Carpenter of Yellowknife managed to find some unregistered but purebred animals. His Eskimo Dog Research Foundation brought the breed back to international recognition.
