Day 1: Fort Simpson – North Nahanni Naturalist Lodge
We meet you at a pre-arranged destination in Fort Simpson where your Nahanni adventure begins. We start out with a historical tour of Fort Simpson prior to your departure to the lodge and beyond. You have the option to fly or take a very scenic two hour snowmobile ride along the Mackenzie River to the lodge. After a delicious home cooked dinner this will be your first time watching the Northern Lights dancing across the night sky.
Day 2: North Nahanni Naturalist Lodge
Integrated into the surrounding landscape the lodge is completely hand built from local timber and caters to a maximum of 12 guests only. Much of the furniture has been carved by local craftspeople using wood from the area. The lodge features 6 rooms, electricity, indoor plumbing, satellite TV, telephone and daily maid service. Recap the day's events lounging in our comfortable, spacious living room. The large vaulted windows let in both daytime and nighttime skies. During the day you have the opportunity to try ice fishing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and to visit a traditional trapline, You may also want to go for a ride with our beautiful dog team. Enjoy the wood fired sauna before stepping outside for a night of dancing lights.
Day 3: Return Flight / Snowmobile Ride to Fort Simpson
Return to Fort Simpson in the late morning or program extension.
