Day 1: Vancouver – Gold Bridge
Pick up your 4x4 SUV and drive on the scenic Sea-to-Sky Highway towards Whistler. Sightseeing stopover at Shannon Falls, Garibaldi Provincial Park and Whistler. Continue on the Hurley River gravel road to your remote wilderness lodge near Gold Bridge in the heart of the Chilcotin Mountain Range. Overnight.
Day 2: Gold Bridge – Williams Lake
Morning options: horseback riding to remote alpine lakes, ATV touring on old mining trails, hiking trips to wildflower carpeted alpine meadows or fly fishing on a nearby lake. In the afternoon travel on the Duffy Lake Road to Williams Lake – home of Stampedes & Rodeos (July). Overnight.
Day 3: Williams Lake – Chilko Lake
The Cariboo-Chilcotin Plateau boasts a variety of back roads, lakes and rivers – just perfect to explore with your 4x4. This is real “Cowboy Country” and the area provides a multituede of outdoor activities. Arrive at your lodge on the shore of Chilko Lake and get ready for adventure.
Day 4: Chilko Lake Area
Morning: 5 h whitewater rafting trip on the Chilcotin River with its famous Farewell Canyon (Grade IV) Afternoon guided horseback riding, fishing (Salmon June – Aug) or hiking. Your deluxe resort within the Coast Mountain Range provides tennis courts, pool, hot tubs, sauna etc The adjacent Ts'yl-os Provinical Park has plenty of trails.
Day 5: Chilko Lake Area
Another day of guided adventures: Try a heli-hiking trip to the alpine and wildflower meadows, fish for salmon or lake trout or take a guided horseback trip. Relax in the evening in front of a massive stone fireplace and enjoy your dinner.
Day 6: Chilko Lake – 100 Mile House
It is time to leave Chilko Lake and travel on to your lodge and spa resort near 100 Mile House. Overnight in a private, tastefully decorated log cabin. Spend some more time exploring the spectacular South Cariboo scenery by foot or horseback or just relax in the world-class spa facility.
Day 7: 100 Mile House - Vancouver
On your way to Vancouver you'll pass the Fraser Canyon. Also known als Hell's Gate, it is the section of river that offers the ultimate in whitewater river rafting. Arrive back in Vancouver and return your rental car.
