The Cowboy Trail - Ranches & Stampedes - 07 Days
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Calgary
Arrive in Calgary and pick up your rental car at the airport. Calgary is nestled beside the Rocky Mountain foothills and famous for the "Calgary Stampede" Rodeo, Pow Wow and authentic western shows and farmers markets during July. Short drive to a guest ranch. Overnight.

Day 2: Calgary
A day at the ranch and/or time to visit a professional rodeo. Attend a guided trail ride and enjoy a typical BBQ cookout at night, or visit one of the various professional rodeos within the area. If you are here during the Calgary Stampede we gladly reserve tickets for a variety of events for you.

Day 3: Calgary – Icefield Parkway
Begin your self-drive tour and travel via the city of Rocky Mountain House into the Rocky Mountain National Parks towards the Columbia Icefield with its spectacular scenery. Visit Weeping Wall Waterfalls or go on for a short hike to famous Parker Ridge.Overnight along the Icefield Parkway.

Day 4: Banff National Park
One of the world's greatest mountain highways winds down to scenic Peyto Lake and offers outstanding viewpoints and excellent wildlife viewing. Continue to Lake Louise and visit the famous Fairmont Hotel - Chateau Lake Louise and enchanted Moraine Lake. Take a short side trip into Yoho National Park with its Spiral Train Tunnel, Emerald Lake, Takakkaw Falls and the Natural Bridge. Continue to Banff via Vermillion Lake. Overnight Banff.

Day 5:
Banff National Park
A full day to explore Banff and its area attractions: the Center of Performance Art, the Whyte Museum, the Banff Springs Hotel, the Hoodoos etc. Don’t miss a ride with the gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain (2281 m) with a sweeping 360-degree view of the area. Overnight.

Day 6: Banff - Kananaskis
Short drive to a guest ranch near Kananaskis – home of the 1988 Winter Olympics and the G8 Summit in 2002. Check in at a Guest Ranch at the shores of the Bow River. Remaining day free time to relax or attend a guided horseback or rafting trip into the wilderness of the majestic Kananaskis Country. Evening Western BBQ entertainment. Overnight.

Day 7:
Kananaskis - Calgary
How about some fly-fishing in the morning. Your week of western hospitality comes to an end. Short drive to Calgary and return of your rental car. Tour extension available.
