Day 1: Calgary - Banff
Arrive in Calgary and pick up your rental car at the airport. Calgary is nestled beside the Rocky Mountain foothills and famous for the "Calgary Stampede" Rodeo & Show. Short drive to Banff National Park. Check in at your hotel.
Day 2: Banff National Park
Banff is part of the UNESCO Rocky Mountain Park Heritage Site and offers many attractions including Upper Hot Springs, Bow Falls, Banff Springs Hotel and the Hoodoos. Take the Gondola to the Top of Sulphur Mountain and enjoy the amazing mountain scenery.
Day 3: Banff - Jasper
One of the world's greatest mountain highway, the Icefields Parkway winds up from Bow Valley and offers outstanding viewpoints and excellent wildlife viewing. Along the way stopover at the town of Lake Louise and visit famous Fairmont Chateau.
Day 4: Jasper National Park
Jasper National Park is located admist the most beautiful wilderness of the Rocky Mountains. Visit Maligne Canyon and glacier-fed Maligne Lake. From here take a cruise to Spirit Island. The top of Whistlers Mountain promises the best views of the rockies.
Day 5: Jasper – Clearwater
Follow the Miette River to Mt. Robson, the tallest mountain of the Canadian Rockies. Enjoy a short hike to Rearguard Falls before continuing to Clearwater. Highlights of Wells Gray Provincial Park are the Helmcken Fall, Canada's fourth highest waterfall and the Trophy Mountain alpine flower meadows (July & August)
Day 6: Clearwater - Whistler
Travel via Bridge Lake and 100 Mile House towards the Coastal Mountain Range. This is BC “Cowboy Country” with large Ranches and a desert like landscape. You will arrive in the early evening at your lodge near Whistler.
Day 7: Whistler - Vancouver
Morning sightseeing in Whistler. Continue on the Sea-to-Sky Highway along islands and mountain ranges to Vancouver. Rental car return – end of tour. |
