Calgary to Prince George - 14 Days
A classic itinerary which incorporates the Rocky Mountain National Parks within British Columbia and Alberta as well as Vancouver Islands scenic Inside Passage between Port Hardy and Prince Rupert. Tour the Okanagan Valley, BC’s Gold Rush Trail, visit the large totem pole collection near Ksan, stroll through Vancouver and charming Victoria, drive along Vancouver Islands rugged coast line, explore excellent hiking trails at Mt Robson Park, enjoy world class fishing trips within the lake district along the Yellowhead Highway or watch for wildlife on the Icefield Parkway If this is your first visit in Western Canada – you’ll be impressed with the diversity and beauty of both provinces between the Pacific Coast and the Rocky Mountain Range.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Calgary
Rental car pick up and check in at your downtown hotel. The vibrant city of Calgary is nestled beside the Rocky Mountain foothills and famous for the "Calgary Stampede" Rodeo in July. Tour the city and take an elevator to the top of the Calgary Tower – which offers unparalleled views of the city, mountains and prairies beyond.

Day 2: Calgary - Golden
From Calgary travel on the Trans-Canada-Highway #1 and cross the Alberta/BC border. Stopover at Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Continue to Yoho National Park and visit enchanted Emerald, Takakkaw Falls and the Natural Bridge. After crossing Kicking Horse Pass you arrive at the quaint town of Golden. Overnight.

Day 3: Golden - Kelowna
Leave Revelstoke National Park and drive to the Okanagan Valley. With over 2,000 hours of sunshine every year, the valley offers the longest, sunniest and driest summer season in Canada. Spend time to visit some vineyards and fruit orchards or play a round of golf overlooking the dark blue Okanagan Lake.

Day 4: Kelowna - Vancouver
You have two routing options to Vancouver: Highway #1 will lead you the Fraser Canyon and Hell's Gate. This is the place for wildwater rafting enthusiats. Alternatively you can take the Coquihalla Highway to Hope and continue to Vancouver. Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and nestled alongside the Coast Mountains, multi-cultural Vancouver is is one of the most spectacular cities in the world.

Day 5: Vancouver
Spend the day to visit the sights & attractions of Vancouver including Stanley Park, the vibrant shopping districts along Robson Street, the historic Gastown, Chinatown, Stanley Park and the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Grouse Mountain offers incredible views of the city.

Day 6: Vancouver - Victoria
Take a short ferry passage to Vancouver Island. On the way to Victoria stopover at Butchart Gardens. With over 5,000 species of plants, it's rated as one of the most beautiful gardens in the world. Arrive in Victoria, sparkling in one of Canada's mildest climates. Time to viisit the British Museum, the Inner Harbor and the shopping districts around Blanchard Street.

Day 7: Victoria – Campbell River
Explore the unique British character of Victoria and visit famous landmarks like the Empress Hotel, Chinatown, Parlament Building, Helmcken House or the Antique Row. In the afternoon leave Victoria and travel to Campbell River – also known as the salmon fishing capital of BC.

Day 8: Arrival Port Hardy
On your way to Port Hardy, make sure to stop-by at Telegraph Cove. The pictureque "boardwalk village" – is a whole community raised on wooden stilts over the waters – who offers excellent whale watching tours. Arrive at Port Hardy, an important ferry terminal for the Inside Passage.

Day 9: Ferry to Prince Rupert
Take an unforgettable day cruise aboard the ferry through the majestic Inside Passage. Aside from a short stretch of open ocean the route leads through a narrow maze of channels, passes, and reaches. Keep your eyes peeled for whales, purpoises and bald eagles.

Day 10: Arrival Prince George
Follow the Yellowhead Highway and stop at the Gitksan Native Village of 'Ksan, adjacent to the town of Old Hazelton with a large totem pole collection. From here you can take a detour to Fort St. James, an authentic 1896 Hudson's Bay Company fur trading post.

Day 11: Prince George - Jasper
Continue to Tete Jaune Cache, hike to the Rearguard Falls where you can see salmon attempting to leap the falls. On your way to Jasper you pass Mt. Robson, the tallest mountain of the Canadian Rockies and the origin of the mighty Fraser River.

Day 12: Jasper - Banff
Jasper is located admist the most beautiful wilderness of the Rocky Mountains. Visit the sights - Pyramid Lake, Medicine Lake and Maligne Canyon. Travel along the Icefields Parkway with outstanding viewpoints and excellent wildlife viewing to Lake Louise. After your area sightseeing is completed continue your journey to Banff.

Day 13: Banff
Explore the sights of Banff - the Upper Hot Springs, Cave and Basin Centre, Bow Falls and the Hoodoos or play a round of golf in front of the Banff Springs Hotel. Well worth is the gondola ride to the Top of Sulphur Mountain for an amazing 360-degree mountain view.

Day 14: Banff - Calgary
It is time to leave Banff National Park and the Rocky Mountains. Take the Trans-Canada-Highway towards Calgary. Return your rental car.
