All heli-ski clients should arrive by 09:00 am. Upon arrival at the Heli-Plex we ask that you go directly to the reception desk and check in with our staff. At this time you will be issued your avalanche transceiver. If you are renting FATS we will need one ski boot with your completed rental form placed inside the boot. You get dressed for skiing and allocated to a guide and a group of 10-11 skiers. The guides will instruct you in the use of an avalanche transceiver and safety around the helicopter. Normally one group of heli-skiers will fly directly from the Heli-Plex while others are bused to a nearby staging area. Lift off for the first group will be at approximately 10:30 am. You may expect to ski one or two runs varying in length from 500 to 1500 vertical meters (1600 to 4800 feet) before lunch. Skiing resumes after lunch. Varied terrain and pace challenge the intermediate and advanced skier. If you ski in control regardless of the snow conditions, you are a candidate for Western Canada's most exhilarating ski experience. Skiers are grouped by "stated" ability levels and ski runs chosen to best suit the eneral calibre of the 11-person group. Powder instruction is readily offered by your personal guide. |
